365 days and nothing better to do
The Langley to Baghdad out and back ultramarathon journey
starting 1/30/2006
|
Woodland trails on Camp McCrady, SC. Pretty sweet, given
the circumstances. |
|
Tank trails. Thick, greasy South Carolina red clay. A good
set of trail shoes and you're fine.
|
|
The signage. Not quite the ambiance of the intersection at the top of Moss
Valley, but no sense complaining. |
|
The first remote Saturday Long Run. Just back to the
barracks after 2:40 of tank trails and single track in the rain.
TJ Brodeur, adventure racer from Bend and fellow Navy Reserve
mobilization asset, at (my) left. He'll be the other participant in Chuckanut 2006, Baghdad edition. |
|
The neighborhood. Oh well. |
|
The Army of One. Can't run very fast with all this stuff on,
but I am heavily armed. Which, depending on your perspective, is
either nice or a bit of a burden. Note the Bob Ryburn-supplied
shank on my right quad. |
