11 hours and nothing better to do
Lake Cowichan Marathon Swim, Cowichan Valley, BC, Canada

The start. R to L: Jaime (BC), Matt, Erin, Kathy, Pete (BC),
Challis, Peter, Alex (BC), Leanne (BC), Laura (BC), Lisa

The course. From #3 (at the West end) to the Research Station
(waaaay the heck down at
the non-West end).
Attention Campers is right.

|
The start and the course. Looking down the course. All the 66-degree water
you can drink. And that point of land on the right is the first
checkpoint - all of 1.7k down the pike. From there, only a half
marathon to go.

|
Our (soon to be) champion. ...not quite 1,136 laps in the IAC
pool...or just shy of 38 trips to Thompson's and back...or 32.5 laps of
the triathlon swim course...or.......
With that going through your mind it's OK to flash a wry smile
|
|
Underway. Ex-tri and swim hard core (and 2006 Marathon Swim relay
team member) Greg at the helm. Don't worry about the paperwork, we
signed you up already.
|
|
The approach to the finish. This is where you start your
sprint.
